Noterro Integration (via Google Calendar sync)

Use tDoc's Google Calendar integration with Noterro by syncing Noterro to Google Calendar—no direct Noterro API required.

📆 How Noterro Works With tDoc

tDoc does not have a direct integration with Noterro. Integration is achieved through two-way sync with Google Calendar:

  1. Noterro → Google Calendar: You sync your Noterro appointments to a Google Calendar (using Noterro’s own Google Calendar sync).
  2. Google Calendar ↔ tDoc: You connect that same Google Calendar to tDoc using tDoc’s Google Calendar integration.

Appointments then flow Noterro ↔ Google Calendar ↔ tDoc. Your AI receptionist uses the same Google Calendar data, so it sees availability and bookings that reflect your Noterro schedule.

🔄 Setting Up the Integration

Step 1: Sync Noterro to Google Calendar

In Noterro, connect Google Calendar so your appointments appear in Google (and optionally sync Google events back into Noterro). Noterro’s direct Google integration avoids the typical “24-hour delay” of subscribed calendar sync.

  1. Log in to Noterro as a Practitioner.
  2. Click your Profile Picture or Initials in the top-right header.
  3. Click Calendar.
  4. Scroll to the Google Calendar section.
  5. Click Connect to Google (or Disconnect if you need to change the connection).
  6. Sign in to your Google Account and click Allow.
  7. Choose the Calendar you want to sync (this should be the same calendar you will connect to tDoc in Step 2).
  8. Optional: Check Enable 2-Way Sync and Display Events so that events created in Google Calendar (e.g. by tDoc) also appear in your Noterro calendar as blocked time and avoid double-booking.

With two-way sync enabled, Google events show in Noterro as blocked time so other staff see that time is unavailable (without event details). New connections pull future Noterro events plus up to 30 days of history into Google; “Busy” events in Google block that time in Noterro to prevent conflicts.

Step 2: Connect That Google Calendar to tDoc

In tDoc, connect the same Google Calendar using the built-in Google Calendar integration:

  1. Navigate to the Integrations section from your team account sidebar.
  2. Find the Google Calendar card and click Connect.
  3. Sign in with the same Google account used for Noterro (or one that has access to the synced calendar).
  4. Grant access and select the calendar that Noterro is syncing to.
  5. Enable two-way sync so appointments booked by your AI receptionist are written to Google Calendar (and can sync back to Noterro).

Connect Google Calendar

✅ Once both sides are set up, Noterro appointments will appear in tDoc via Google Calendar, and bookings made through tDoc will appear in Google Calendar and, if configured, in Noterro.

📅 How Appointments Sync

  • Noterro → tDoc: Appointments created or updated in Noterro sync to Google Calendar, then tDoc reflects them via its Google Calendar sync. Your AI receptionist sees up-to-date availability.
  • tDoc → Noterro: When the AI receptionist books an appointment, tDoc creates an event in Google Calendar. If Noterro is set to two-way sync with that calendar, the event can appear in Noterro.
  • Cancellations and rescheduling: Handle them in either Noterro or Google Calendar (or tDoc); as long as both Noterro and tDoc are syncing with the same Google Calendar, changes can propagate through the calendar.

⚠️ Important: Sync behavior depends on Noterro’s Google Calendar sync (one-way vs two-way) and on tDoc’s Google Calendar configuration (e.g. sync direction, which calendars are selected).

🤖 AI Receptionist Capabilities

Because the link is through Google Calendar, your AI receptionist can:

  • Check availability using the same calendar that Noterro syncs to.
  • Book new appointments (created as events in Google Calendar, which may then sync to Noterro).
  • Avoid double-booking when Noterro appointments are present in that Google Calendar.

Patient or practice-specific data (e.g. charts, intake forms) stays in Noterro; tDoc only uses the calendar events from Google Calendar.

🧪 Testing the Flow

  1. Create a test appointment in Noterro and confirm it appears in the linked Google Calendar, then in tDoc (may take a short delay).
  2. Use your AI receptionist to book a test appointment and confirm the event appears in Google Calendar and, if applicable, in Noterro.
  3. Change or cancel an appointment in one system and verify the change propagates as expected through Google Calendar.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

  • Appointments from Noterro not in tDoc: Check Noterro’s Google Calendar sync and that the correct calendar is connected in tDoc. Use the Google Calendar integration doc for tDoc-side settings (e.g. calendar selection, sync direction).
  • Bookings from tDoc not in Noterro: Confirm Noterro is set to two-way sync with the same Google Calendar and that the event is being created in that calendar.
  • Delays or duplicates: Sync intervals and conflict handling are controlled by Noterro (for Noterro ↔ Google) and by tDoc’s Google Calendar integration (for Google ↔ tDoc). Check both sides.
